The registered office of the Society is located at House No. 85, D.R. Pathak Bhawan, Voltas Lane, Natun Sarania, Chandmari, Guwahati-781003.
NTCCS has been created with a clear purpose: to extend accessible, affordable, and member-centric financial services across the State of Assam, particularly in rural and semi – urban areas where banking services are limited or absent. The Society aims to nurture a culture of savings among its members, reduce dependency on informal moneylenders, and provide timely credit for productive economic activities, household needs, emergencies, and livelihood development. By encouraging thrift and self-help, NTCCS seeks to empower families—especially small entrepreneurs, farmers, and women—to build financial security and economic independence.
The area of operation of the Society extends to the entire State of Assam, with a long-term vision to establish at least one branch in every subdivision. Through this grassroots-level outreach, NTCCS plans to deliver cooperative financial services closer to people’s doorsteps and strengthen local economic systems through community participation. Membership is open to residents of Assam who meet the eligibility criteria, and the Society offers two categories of members—Regular Members with voting rights and Associate Members without voting rights. The cooperative is governed democratically by its General Body and managed by an elected Board of Directors, ensuring transparency, accountability, and participation in decision-making.
In line with its objectives and registered bylaws, NTCCS will mobilize funds through member share capital, savings deposits, recurring deposits, and fixed deposits, and will provide loans exclusively to its members at reasonable and regulated interest rates. The Society also commits to spreading financial literacy, promoting women entrepreneurship, supporting income-generating activities, creating reserve funds, and collaborating with banks, cooperatives, and development institutions to expand opportunities for its members. Regular audits, statutory compliance, and disciplined financial management form the backbone of its governance structure.
NTCCS envisions building a strong cooperative movement that supports socio economic upliftment, strengthens community bonds, and promotes inclusive financial growth across Assam. By functioning as a people-owned institution based on trust, transparency, and shared benefit, the Society aims to become a reliable financial partner for thousands of households and an instrument of progress in the cooperative sector of the state.
The Society operates under the Assam Cooperative Societies Act and intends to open branches across all civil subdivisions in Assam, promoting ethical banking alternatives where conventional services are limited or absent.
