Core Objectives:

Membership

Two categories of membership are available:

Regular Members

  • Must subscribe to a minimum of ₹5,000 in shares
  • Enjoy full voting rights and governance participation
  • Eligible for dividends, loans, and society services

Associate Members

  • Entry with ₹100 in share capital
  • No voting rights but can access financial services
  • Can be upgraded to Regular Membership

Ineligible Persons:

Minors, non-residents of Assam, individuals of unsound mind, defaulters to cooperatives, and those with convictions for moral turpitude.

Operations & Governance

  • Board of Directors: 15 members including President, Vice-President, Secretary & Treasurer
    Treasurer
  • General Body: Supreme decision-making body
  • Meetings: Monthly board meetings and annual general meetings
  • Loan Types: Personal, business, housing, emergency, education
  • Deposit Schemes: Savings, recurring, fixed deposits with competitive interest

Financial Sources Include:

  • Member share capital and deposits
  • Government grants and bank loans
  • Interest and service charges

Compliance & Transparency

  • Annual audits by certified auditors
  • Transparent MIS and regular internal inspections
  • Books and records include: share registers, member passbooks, loan and deposit
    ledgers, and audit compliance logs
  • Full compliance with Assam Cooperative Societies Act and RBI guidelines

By promoting responsible credit, supporting entrepreneurship, and ensuring grassroots participation, the Society aims to foster self reliance and sustainable livelihoods for thousands of families. Special focus is given to empowering women and youth through accessible and affordable financial tools.
